I have been writing and emailing for almost 6 months
now; and have made all the mistakes because " I DIDN'T LISTEN TO
JOSIE"
I enjoyed emailing because it's fast, and
that's the problem; it's too fast. Phone calls are great but
expensive an and difficult if the lady is shy and uncomfortable
speaking English. She will giggle a lot and say Yes if she doesn't
understand rather than embarrass you. I won't even go into text
messaging.
After all is said and done, an old-fashioned letter
is still the best way. It takes time and effort, and patience ( God
please give me patience, and do it now!), just like a marriage does.
If you are like me, I want to have what Josie and
Delaney have- a good marriage, a beautiful child, and a home in the
Philippines where I can just be me. That will all happen if I am
"Persistent and Patient" to quote Josie's last email to me.
I, and all of us who are looking for that special
Filipina lady, owe much to the Davis' family for the time and effort
they put into this website. Thank you just isn't enough.

I am thinking about retiring in the Philippines soon. I am
trying to learn all I can before I go. I can't tell how your
house looks but I will have to build a home & hopefully build it on
the beach. I am leaving a very beautiful hone but don't know
what choices I will have there. What kind of furniture can one
buy & can we buy other things as cheap as here, like pressure cooker
to cook my beans in. I am used to living a very comfortable
life but then something changed as I viewed pictures of the poor
people in the Philippines & my son met a very wonderful Philippine
girl & married her. Then she sends me pictures of the children
& how her parents live & sleep on a table & this touched my heart so
much that I haven't been the same since.
I now want to share all I have & even the knowledge
I have. My heart is with the Philippine people. Plus I
have had two heart attack. The doctor said it is stressed
related & so after realizing the people there are not stressed even
they have never slept in a bed. My son said Mom you have to
see it & how happy the people are. Now I want to live a little
more comfortable than they are used to. But I want to share
that comfort with them.
