Ben, you should try writing to her and establish a friendship and see how it goes from there.  It is our experience that relationships are stronger and more reliable if you write letters to each other (even if you are emailing each other).  For immigration purposes you must show that you have a true and loving relationship before she is granted a Visa.  The Filipina is usually very patient as that is the way of the Filipino.  Once you have established that you have a desirable friendship, then it is necessary for you to go visit your Filipina Lady and take lots of pictures (proof of your relationship) plus this gives you both a chance to decide if you want to continue your relationship.  We wish you the best and always... Hi Josie and Delaney!

As you can see, my name is Greg and I have met a wonderful Philippina about 15 months ago via one of the online dating services and we fell in love very quickly! Mel is 28 and I am 57 so when I came across your website just now, I related TOTALLY to what you guys are saying and experiencing!

Mel was working as a Balikbayan housemaid in Singapore when we met online because she was given access to a computer. We were together almost every night chatting with webcams on Yahoo IM. She chose to return home at the end of her 2 year contract last December and wait for me to marry her rather than start another minimum 2 year contract.
I spent 5 fantastic weeks with my darling Mel at her home in a Barangay near Cagayan City in Isabela province, northern Luzon, getting to know her, her family and friends. they are a small farming community growing rice and corn and one of her uncles in Cabagan also grows tobacco and builds furniture.

We would have married then, except that I am waiting for my divorce and settlement to be finalized here in Australia. I will be returning in January to marry the Love Of My Life! We will then get her a Spouse Visa to live in Australia and decide later whether to settle down eventually in Australia or the Philippines.

I cannot speak too highly of the Philippine people and their  incredible friendliness and acceptance of foreigners. I think they invented the concept of 'hospitality'!
I completely fell in love with Mel's family and the whole community there. I am so inspired by their generosity towards me that I want to do what I can to make a difference  to their lives also!

As you have said, the difference in our ages is something that has not been a significant issue for me, Mel or her family. It has been mentioned, but it is MY friends and work colleagues who seem to find it more of an issue! For both of us, it is who we are being for each other that is the only thing that matters. I was attracted to her initially by her tagline that read "I am looking for someone to love more than my life" I was hooked on her as soon as I met her and realized that she meant it! I have now found my soulmate and could not be happier.

Of course I wish for the two of you the best life possible!

I want EVERYONE to have the happiness and depth of love that Mel and I are experiencing now and for the rest of our lives. I can see that you guys have it too!
I could go on forever about us, but one acknowledgement I would like to make is to Landmark Education. Mel and I have both participated in The Landmark Forum and gone on to take the Landmark Advanced Course. The difference this has made for me is that I KNOW that I can give Mel a great life and that in doing so, I will have one too! My focus has been, is and will always be on helping her to have what SHE wants for herself and her life! That just about guarantees MY happiness!

All the best for the future and I hope our paths will cross somewhere sometime!

I just made copies of all your photos of your first trip to see Josie and mailed them to Marites, telling her my trip to see her will be much the same and is typical of an American man visiting his filipina sweetheart for the first time. Am I nervous? Yeah. Both of us have exchanged videos of each other so we both know each other and our families. At least I won't see her "cold" beyond the hundreds of photos we've exchanged. Is she nervous? I think she's a lot more nervous than I am. She keeps telling me on the phone, "I hope you like me." I try to comfort her telling her I have fallen in love with her heart, and I also tell her I like her looks too. She's very slim and I think she's very self-conscious about this but I keep telling her I like slim women. I'm not sure I'm getting through to her though. She says she eats and eats but can't gain weight. Oh, how lucky she is!! I don't know if you remember me, I wrote you about 1 1/2 years ago to thank you for your site. Even though I at the time I did not no my now wife had her profile on this site. The part that I have not done yet, (and you already have) is find a place back in the Philippines for my wife, our new daughter (of 3 Months) and me. There are so many scams and over priced deals going there and not knowing any Americans over there makes it even tougher. I (we) want something simple and nice exactly like you have-not something in some fancy-shmancy resort or crap like that. Can you help? You 2 look very happy together like my wife and I! Since I have retired I found that I had a lot of time on my hands. One day I sat down and started writing. Before I knew it as I read back I noticed that I had a gift for writing. So I started to write a romance novel. It is based on How me and my husband had met and everything that we had gone threw leading up to my death. It is called " A perfect stranger for me" As I wrote it my husband read it. He is not one for romance, but did say if they were all like the one that I had wrote he would read them more often. I am trying to get it edited and published. But i really don't know where to go for that. I could really use some help at this point.
